Retained Deciduous (Baby) Teeth
Occasionally a puppy or kitten won’t lose their deciduous teeth properly and end up with both an adult and baby tooth in the same position. If this happens it is highly recommended to get that baby tooth removed! If the baby tooth is left in, malpositioning of the adult tooth can occur, and plaque and tartar can accumulate more rapidly. When your puppy or kitten is in for their spay or neuter this is the ideal time to remove these teeth!
