What should my Cats Temperature, Heart Rate and Respiration Rate Be?
Normal Cat Temperature Range: 38.0°C-39.2 °C (100.5 °F to 102.5 °F)
To check your cats temperature lightly lube the end of a themometer with vaseline and insert it into the pets rectum about and inch. You can also use childrens ear probe themometers in their ears.
Normal Cat Heart Rate Range: 120-140 beats per minute
There are a few different ways to check a cats heart rate.
- You can listen through your cats chest with either a stethescope or just your ear.
- You can feel their heart beat through their chest.
- You can feel a pulse on the inside of their thigh.
Normal Respiration Range: 16 - 40 breaths per minute
This can be observed by watching the rise and fall of your pets chest. Cats shouldnt normally pant. If your cat is panting or breathing heavily consult with your veterinarian.
Checking Your Cats Circulation
Your cats cums should be a consistant light pink. If they appear red, blue, yellow, brown or 'spotted' cunsult your veterinarian.
